Mt. Sipit Ulang and Payaran Falls Side Trip

For my last climb of the year, some friends from the office asked me to join them for a climb in one of the mountains in Rizal.  Mt. Sipit Ulang is relatively easy to climb, except that there are technical parts of the climb, with scrambling on limestones and makeshift ladders. We travelled from Cubao via a private van to Brgy Mascap (but you can take a UV express to Eastwood, and a tricycle to Brgy. Mascap). The registration is I think P25 or P50, and the guide fee was P350 for our group of 5.  I had a short 'kilig moment" when I saw the poster below and saw my picture at Mt. Pamitinan at the right most side.
The registration is right beside the multi-purpose building, where shower rooms for P20 are available.  As you can see from the poster, this can also the jump-off for Mt. Ayaas and Mt. Pamitinan.

Here are some pictures of the trails.  There are ladders in the Paniki Trail and they are not that difficult to climb. But better have a smaller bag that can fit in the openings of the cave.
Also better to have gloves as the limestone rocks can hurt your hands if unprotected.
 More rocks and more caves!
While waiting for our turn to take pics at the summit!
We had a side trip to Payaran Falls. First, we went back to the registration are, had our lunch at the carideria nearby, then went for an hour more of hiking to reach the falls.

It was an easy hike all in all, topped with a refreshing dip at the falls. Perfect for a day hike!

How to get there:
From Cubao; Take a UV Express going to Montalban (along Aurora Blvd, MRT station) and alight at Eastwood, Then take a tricycle to Brgy Mascap.

Expenses:
Van to Eastwood, Montalban-P50
Tricycle to Bgry Mascap P30/P150
Registration Fee P25 or P50
Guide Fee P350
Tip P50
Food P50
