Mt. Malipunyo: Itinerary and Expenses

Last Sunday, I went with our group, Nasugbu Adventure Club and some friends to hike Mt. Malipunyo in the Malarayat Range in Batangas.  My last hike (excluding Batad) was in March, when I organized a fun climb to Mt. Pamitinan in Montalban, Rizal. Our climb took us 12 hours!

Our itinerary and expenses are as follows:

5:00 am: Meet at All Day convenience store in Star Mall Alabang.
5:30 am: Take a Batangas bound bus to Lipa, fare was P89 (we alighted at Tambo exit) and we took a jeep (P8)to SM Lipa  -our meet up place. You can take any bus that will pass by Tambo exit.
8:00 am Ride a jeep to Fiesta Mall (P7.50)and take a tricycle (30/pax) to the registration site (not sure if there was a registration fee) in Brgy. Talisay . Look for a guide (we paid P1,600 for our group of 16) and proceed to the jump-off.
9:00 am Start the trek.  There are 3 peaks: Peak 1, Peak 2 and the Summit
2:00 pm Arrive at the Summit. Eat lunch. Take pictures. Rest.
3:30 pm Start descent.
9:00 pm Arrive at jump off and clean up.
10:30 pm: Leave jump-off for SM Lipa  via contracted tricycle (P50/pax).  Make sure to arrange this before you proceed with the hike especially if you will take a long time like we did.
11:00 pm Leave SM Lipa to Alabang via contracted van. I forgot to ask what time is last trip but when we arrived, no more buses leaving for Manila. Good thing there was a parked van that we were able to negotiate. We paid P135 each (cost is P120/pax but seating capacity of the van is 18 so we paid additional for the 2 extra headcount).
12:00 am: Arrive in Alabang and leave for Boni.

So, why did it took us 12 hours to do the climb? I will tell you all about it in the next post.
